There are moments in this industry that quietly stop you in your tracks - and this was one of them. When a Celebrity Make-up artist and Brand ambassador for Max Factor, Caroline Barnes, gave me and my newly launched TLC Organic Super Nutrient Facial Elixir oil a shout out on her fab Speed Beauty, YouTube channel over the weekend! I had to watch it more than just once!! Her channel has over 86k followers.
Why this meant so much
Like me, Caroline is a seasoned Makeup artist, with over 3 decades of experience. We both trained at the London college of fashion in the early '90s and she is one of the most revered Make-up artists in the beauty industry. Working in the highest tiers of the fashion industry and on the faces of the world's most high profile women, including Kylie Minogue, Leanne Rimes, Yasmin le Bon...etc, etc...
Make-up artists like myself and Caroline are highly experienced and are notoriously discerning. Our kits are tight, standards high, and loyalty is hard won, so when someone who is so experienced and works on faces we all recognise tells me my oil has earned a place in their routine, it means the world to me.
It preps beautifully under makeup, smells beautiful but not overpowering, gives a natural glow without the excess shine and works on real faces, in real conditions.
As a Makeup artist myself that has always been the point. I created this oil to work, on set, backstage and in everyday life for models and everyday women alike.
I made this oil because I couldn't find one that did everything I needed it to. Most were too greasy, too smelly, too shiny...just too much and at the same time, just not enough!
I wanted something that respected the skin, supported makeup, and improved texture over time - especially for grown-up skin that needs hydration and performance. So I decided to make my own.
