Recently I have had the pleasure of working with wonderful creative people. I worked with the amazing Joanna Chafer of Joanna-Leigh Couture in Brigg, and my goodness, her designs are second to none and the attention to detail is astonishing!
Siana Hemmings was our beautiful model for the day, (Miss Lincolnshire) and I think you will agree, she looks amazing and is such a professional lady to work with, (and very funny too!)
Our inspiration was of course Joannas' beautiful gowns and when we saw a Victorian design, we all agreed this was the way forward for us to go, therefore, we incorporated a real Victorian, sophisticated feel to our shoot.
Regarding make-up - I wanted to show a nod to this era but still making the make-up look timelessly elegant. The fashion was to have a very pale face, but I just turned it up a notch and warmed up the skin. To prep the skin I used This works in transit camera close-up moisturiser and primer to create a beautiful base to work on. I then used Bobbi Brown Long-wear even finish foundation, a touch of corrector and concealer where needed and finished with Bobbi Brown sheer finish loose powder. For eyes, I used Bobbi Brown brow palette in the shade Saddle. On the whole eye area I used Long-wear cream eyeshadow in Ballet pink and then Illamasqua cream pigments in Androgen, Emerge and Delerium, taking the lilac-y shade underneath the eyes and blending very well. The whole face had to be powdered very well to create a lovely matte effect. I then used Bobbi Brown cream eyeshadow in Bone as a highlighter. To define the lashline, I used Black track gel liner by MAC and then applied some of their false lash mascara. I then added some beautiful false lashes from Red cherry which had to be wispy and beautiful.
For cheeks - I contoured slightly with a brown eyeshadow and then added a bright pop of blush, only on the apples of the cheeks to create a Victorian feel to it, I used Peony blush by Bobbi Brown and blended well with a Real Techniques blusher brush, (I love these brushes by the way, they are lovely to work with.)
For lips, I mixed my own colour to reflect the gorgeous shades that Jo and Sophie had created in their bouquets, which were a stunning range of reds, crimsons and burgundys. Firstly, I applied a lip pencil by Bobbi Brown in Sangria and then mixed 2 lip colours from my Bobbi Brown pro lip palette in Chocolate and Black berry. I then applied a Bobbi Brown crystal lip gloss, which has gold flecks in it.
We all had such a fantastic day. Tracy Conway-Smith took the photographs and they look amazing so far, so I can't wait to see the rest! The flowers were designed and made by Sophie and Jo at The Wedding and Flower Boutique, which were so creative and just beautiful! Hair was done by the wonderful Claire Snowden hairdresser.
