Emma wanted a glamorous make-up for her Prom and is used to wearing quite a bit of make-up already. She already had a good idea of what kind of make-up she wanted for her Prom - she wanted defined, brown, smoky eyes with black liner, subtle contouring and a bright red lip.
Emma had great skin to work on and cute, little freckles! I evened out her skin and followed with a little bit of powder to stop any shine down the t-zone. Brows next - Emma had shaped them herself so I just brushed them through and applied a light eyeshadow and set with some brow gel. I applied a Bone cream eyeshadow all over the eye area and then used a Bronze cream eyeshadow into the socket and on the outer lid, blending really well. I then applied a Black Ink gel liner with a Maggie Hunt fine eyeliner brush. I then applied some Eylure false eyelashes (number 100.) These are lovely and feathery and don't look OTT.
I am not a huge fan, as you may know, of the whole contouring look, but I did apply a very small amount of eyeshadow under Emma's cheekbones to accentuate her cheekbones. As we were going for strong eyes and lips, I didn't use much blush, just a tiny amount and then applied highlighter along the top of the cheekbones, and slightly down the centre of the face.
I then filled in her beautiful lips with a nude lip pencil and then painted a Old Hollywood red lipstick by Bobbi Brown onto her lips, layering and blotting, keeping the lip matte.
I think that Prom is a time to go for it and experiment a little with make-up and Emma looked very pretty.
