Tina Brocklebank Makeup artist, June column for The Journal.

A busy time of year!...

Wedding and prom season is in full flow and I have been so busy with make-up trials and make-up lessons.  I have been here, there and everywhere!  I am so lucky in my career that I get to meet so many lovely people and get to see some beautiful venues too.

I have also been taking lots of bookings for 2015 and 2016, so please contact me to check availability and try not to leave it until the last minute! See below a lovely smiley shot captured at the lovely Rebeccas home on her wedding morning, they were all so excited!

I am also busy with writing articles at the moment for The Journal magazine, The Wedding Journal and also Fibre magazine, so watch out for these!x

Prom make-up - Make-up by Tina Brocklebank Make-up artist...

Prom season is upon us, (once again!) and I have been so busy with make-up trials, weddings and also Prom make-ups.  I have just written an article for The Journal magazine about this.  I am always surprised when I meet my prom girls as 16 years old is so much older now from when I was that age.  These girls are inundated nowadays with images of perfection, so hats off to them as they all looked stunning and such lovely girls, so a real credit to their parents.   I wish them every success in their new adventures now they have left school!

The most requested makeup styles were - Bronzed, contoured look, pale skin with nude eye and cat eyeliner with a bold lip or smokey eye and a nude lip and Natural with peachy tones and soft, smokey eye. As you can see from a couple of photos below, I loved doing make-up on these beautiful girls.  They were so lovely to work with.

I have still got lots of weddings too to work on and I have been very busy with these recently.  I also have lots of other things in the pipeline...so watch this space!xx

Luxury bridal make-up lessons -

Wedding season is in full flow and I have been so busy with bridal/wedding make-up trials and make-up lessons.  I often get asked to do make-up lessons for ladies that are getting married abroad, I have done quite a few of these just lately, so I have updated my make-up lesson package accordingly.

I suppose it all started off when Kate Middleton got married and surprised everyone by not having a make-up artist, as she did her own make-up on her wedding day, (Hannah Martin of Bobbi Brown was there on hand to help.)

I now offer Luxury bridal make-up lessons at my Lincolnshire-based make-up studio.  These can be catered for your requirements, however, the most popular recently has been a 2 hour lesson at £155.00, (this includes one set of false lashes.)  Prior to meeting you I will send you a questionnaire and this will enable me to cater the lesson for you and for me to get a feel of what look you would like on your wedding day.  It is a good idea if you bring your own skincare and make-up bag with you, as hopefully you will have some suitable products in there already, without you having to purchase lots of new ones for your wedding day, (I will provide all of the make-up used on the make-up lesson.)  The first hour will be spent discussing your needs and I will demonstrate a natural bridal make-up and then I will create a more dramatic, evening version so you can compare the two looks, (often the more dramatic version is best, especially for bridal/wedding photographs.)

It is a good idea if you turn up to the lesson with your normal make-up on as you would normally do it, then I will take a photograph of you prior to removing your make-up.  I will then take another photo and then again at the end of the make-up lesson.  Included in the make-up lesson is skincare advice, bespoke bridal looks designed just for you, an application sheet, (e-mailed to you after the session) and a personalised face chart and product list.  You can then go online and purchase any necessary items ready for your big day.  I am also there after your lesson for any further guidance/support you may require.

Please contact me if you would like to book or for further information.

8os inspired makeup

80's inspired make-up by Tina Brocklebank Make-up artist and working at Stubton hall...

Work has been extremely busy lately as wedding season is in full swing and I have been busy re-stocking my make-up kit and I also did an 80's inspired shoot too, with Tracy Conway-Smith.  I always love using strong colours for photoshoots.  I used Make-up Forever, Maybelline, Illamasqua, Mac and Bobbi Brown.  They eyelashes were from Eldora and they look amazing don't they!

Recently I worked on a wedding with some fabulous ladies from Essex and the venue was the amazing Stubton hall, near Newark, it is definitely one of my favourite places to work...plus the lighting is fantastic for a make-up artist.

I have also introduced some amazing new false lashes into my make-up kit from Velour lashes, they last up to 25 times, look beautiful and don't harm your own lashes, yes they are a bit more expensive but so worth it! x

Make-up artist in Lincolnshire (Blog update) -

Well, I haven't wrote in my blog for quite a while! things have been very hectic lately! So, since my last post I have been very busy with make-up trials and make-up lessons in my make-up studio.  I have updated my make-up kit recently by purchasing a new wonderful Mamba brush wrap from  The Emj company (www.theemjcompany.com), a pencil roll and also a gloss roll - let me tell you - these products have revolutionized my work by making things SO much easier! I know can see exactly where  my brush/product is without rummaging around, it certainly saves a lot of time and effort!

I have also been extremely busy with weddings too, and I have had the pleasure of working with some lovely, inspirational people.  Its always such an honour to share someone's wedding morning with them.  I also had the pleasure of working in Nottingham recently with 3 beautiful ladies, (Mum and 2 daughters.)  They wanted a day make-up workshop, so I designed it especially around them for their requirements and needs.  I showed them different looks, products and techniques too.  The 2 daughters have quite a following - check out their channels on Youtube - talkbeckytalk or twinklelashes  I then designed their looks for them on my face charts, (see photo above.)

I have also been busy writing my column for the Journal magazine, and please feel free to e-mail me over any make-up related questions you may have, that you would like me to answer for you.  I really enjoy writing my column.

People are coming from as far away as Essex now to have make-up trials with me, and they stayed at the beautiful Healing Manor.  They are getting married at the stunning Stubton Hall, near Newark, (www.stubtonhall.co.uk )Its a perk of the job to get to travel around the UK and see some beautiful locations for weddings.

I am also loving working with mature ladies for make-up lessons - its very satisfying to help someone who has lost confidence and once they have their make-up applied they are back in the game! To quote on lady recently, "I feel like skipping home after having my make-up done by you, I feel fantastic!"  You can see why I love my job so much, and its great to help and empower other women.

I have a lot of make-up trials and lessons coming up, and wedding season is in full swing, with bookings being taken for 2015 and 2016.  I also have some photo shoots lined up for various projects, so watch this space!

I had the pleasure of working with a photographer in London recently, and I created a doll-inspired make-up for the shoot.

Thank-you for reading!xxx
